“DRAWN FROM WITHIN” Group Exhibtion

“Drawn From Within” — from its title, the exhibition celebrates drawing as the foundation of artistic creation. The allusion to what is inward frames the art form as a wellspring of our rawest and most intimate expressions—each stroke, though barely a millimeter in span, a distillation of the entire gamut of one’s creative fervor.

Traditional conceptions of drawing often consider it as mere preliminary exercise. Sketches and studies on paper are regarded as initial procedures before the actual conduct of artistic work (e.g. painting). But as history has long demonstrated, drawing is equally final and preparatory. It reveals the pulse of an artist’s vision, capturing spontaneity, exploration, and unfiltered emotion in whichever stage of the creative process it may be used.
